Maddy has a love for producing young ponies and horses, the first young pony she trained to FEI level and at the age of 13 she was the highest place individual GB rider at the Pony European Championships in Vilhelmsburg, Denmark (2016).
Since then, she has competed Internationally and 5 different horses, 3 of which took her to Junior & Young Rider European Championships in Holland, France and most recently in Hartpury, UK.
Maddy is now riding full-time on 5 talented horses on her yard and teaching in Gloucester & Worcestershire. Her horses range from 4 to 15 years old, the eldest (Blue Hors Dexter) being her current international competition ride.
She is proud to be part of the team at Dressage Under 21s UK and loves to use her knowledge to fuel passion in a new generation of riders.
Jackie has bred & trained many young horses competing them through the levels, several to PSG & Inter I, her last horse to International Grand Prix (retired sound!). Jackie has always enjoyed teaching & helping people achieve their goals, however big or small!
Jackie is a UK CC3 coach and is currently teaching a great group of clients enjoying their experience’s & successes.
Abbie started her competition career in the showing ring aged just 5 years old having several wins at county level. Aged 11 she turned to dressage and produced her first young pony through the BD youth system enjoying many successes.
Then moving on to producing an inexperienced horse to junior international level including being on the Nations cup team in Samur where she helped the team to secure 2nd place, and later on representing GB at the junior European championships.
Abbie has a huge passion for producing young horses through the levels and is enjoying great success on her string of exciting horses ranging from 4 year olds to 9 year old PSG horse. Abbie holds her BDCC level 3 coaching and loves coaching all levels and ages of horse and rider and is currently going through the training process of becoming a BD listed judge.
Shelagh Steven is BHSSM BHSII (APC) and an accredited BD Trainer, she carries the belief that all horses have the potential to perform in correct form. Her dedication to the Dressage U21's is evident in her commitment to making regular training accessible and affordable to riders of all abilities. By curating small training groups of three, she ensures that individuals of similar abilities work together, optimizing learning and performance outcomes.
Shelagh's training philosophy is not just about the horse but about creating a harmonious bond between rider and horse. She is happiest when she witnesses the improvement of these combinations and the evolution of rider skills. To help riders maintain a broad skill set and stay current with training techniques, Shelagh regularly trains with Debby Lush Dressage, honing her expertise on her diverse set of Welsh and Welsh-cross ponies (keeping her skillset wide !!).
An active competitor, Shelagh not only teaches but also puts her training into practice, competing in BD on her beloved ponies. Among her proudest moments are her achievements at Hartpury, where she showcased the prowess of her 14hh Welsh cob mare at medium level. Through every stride, Shelagh's dedication to dressage shines brightly.
